Inspired by a photograph taken at Janssen Park during the 2026 Queen Wilhelmina Rod Run, Midnight at Jansen Park imagines the splash pad after dark - still running but completely empty, as moonlight catches the falling water and the playground comes alive on its own.

Three failed phone panoramas taken on the drive toward Queen Wilhelmina twisted the mountain, bent the road, and broke apart the view I intended to capture. Combined, those mistakes became Panoramic Portals—a warped landscape where one view opens into another and the mountain folds through itself. Sometimes failure shows you where the picture was hiding.

Low water reveals the broad shelves of layered stone beneath Big Fork Creek’s old swimming hole in western Arkansas. Over the familiar bend, a shadow from another time swings above the deeper water I remember, joining the creek as it is today with the place it remains in memory.

A whimsical rusted metal figure discovered outside a sandwich shop in Mena, Arkansas, becomes a traveler through color and time. Bright color moves upward through the figure and blooms into a stained-glass umbrella, transforming an ordinary roadside curiosity into a surreal journey.

Photographed from ground level near the base of Rich Mountain below Queen Wilhelmina State Park, this view follows a narrow trail into the forest of the Ouachita Mountains. The low perspective sends the trees stretching overhead as scattered sunlight draws the eye deeper into the woods.

An old bridge near Big Fork, Arkansas, becomes a meeting place for different moments in time. Beneath a luminous moon, ghostlike travelers—a horse-drawn wagon followed by an early automobile - cross above the creek as though the bridge still remembers everyone who once passed over it.

A thrifted rose ice mold became art when I photographed a melting ice cube on my porch. Against the dark wood, the ordinary piece of ice takes on the appearance of a luminous frozen bloom.

A weathered red barn stands open to the rafters beneath a brilliant mountain sunset. Surrounded by wildflowers and forested hills, the aging structure rises from the valley like a quiet rural cathedral.

Coming down the mountain into Mena at sunset, the town glows beneath the Ouachitas as wet streets catch the lights of traffic, storefronts, and the fiery sky above.
